Pier Fest, presented by Riverview Jazz and Exchange Place Alliance, will again take place at the J.Owen Grundy Pier located at Exchange Place on FOUR Friday nights in September! Each event features world-class music curated by JC's own Circle 9 Records, a dance lesson from Mario B of JC's Salsa Fever on2, food trucks, and an official after party at the conclusion of each event at Rooftop at Exchange Place (Hyatt House) featuring music from DJ Double A Entertainment.

Today, Circle 9 presents The Congahead Sessions EP. The two tracks, featuring salsa icons Frankie Vazquez, Jeremy Bosch, and master tresero Nelson Gonzalez have been lovingly remastered by Circle 9 engineers from the original audio delivered from the Congahead sessions. These two historical performances, officially comprising The Congahead Sessions EP, are guaranteed to be on “repeat” on your current playlists for months to come!

Circle 9 Records is excited to present a brand new partnership with the legendary NYC music club SOBs to present Circle 9 artists in a world renowned New York City music venue and unite the local music community around accessible music of quality and culture.

The Johnny “Dandy” Rodriguez Dream Team Gala is a special fundraising event to record the legacy of John Rodriguez, a world-renowned bongocero who is a salsa legend and performed and directed the Tito Puente Orchestra for more than 33 years.

All proceeds from this event will go to the recording of Johnny’s seminal “Dream Team” outfit, a band which captures the essence of the great descarga recordings from the Alegre and Tico record labels of the 1950s and 60s, and which has been one of NYC's hottest salsa bands for 5 years. The recordings, scheduled for September 25th and 26th of this year, will be recorded as a single take and live with all members of the Dream Team present, thus capturing the essence and feel of the great Alegre All Stars, Tico All Stars, Cesta All Stars sessions.

Circle 9 is proud to support Michael Ambrosino’s insightful new audio documentary Los Olvidados “The Forgotten Ones”, which explores some of the unique historical, cultural, and artistic contributions that encompass the Latin experience in Jazz.

Steven Brezet has released the new single El Nuevo Sabor in anticipation of his album release World Traveler, due out September 2, 2022.

Circle 9 excitedly welcomes New York flutist Karen Joseph aboard their roster in anticipation of her new solo project, Mambocha.  

A veteran of Charanga ’76, Johnny Pacheco, and most recently of Eddie Palmieri’s great La Perfecta II band, Ms. Joseph will feature an ensemble of both young cutting edge and established legends of the New York Latin music scene performing a blend of heavy-hitting, New York-style charanga, cha-cha and mambo.   The project is to be produced by 2018 Grammy® Winning producer and Circle 9 Director, Doug Beavers.
