Trumpet virtuoso Jonathan Powell (Eddie Palmieri, Blood Sweat & Tears) will release a brand new solo project on the Circle 9 Records label in 2021.

A current member of both Blood Sweat & Tears and Eddie Palmieri’s ensembles, trumpeter and composer Jonathan Powell has been noted for his “crackling range and the electricity of his imagination” as a soloist (Nat Hentoff, JazzTimes).

Jonathan Powell is already among the most formidable trumpeters in the NYC scene, performing with his own group, Nu Sangha, and performing with Arturo O’ Farrill, Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society, Miguel Zenón, Sam Rivers, Pedro Giraudo, and many others.

With these artists and more, Jonathan has taken part in more than a dozen Grammy® Nominated and Grammy winning albums. In 2016, he signed on with Yamaha to be an exclusive endorsee of Yamaha trumpets and flugelhorns.
